Are there any researchers studying FG Syndrome?
There are many scientists around the world working to further the understanding of the FG Syndrome. Some of these researchers are working hard to identify the gene or genes responsible for causing the FG Syndrome. Their work has already resulted in blood testing becoming available for the FG Syndrome location known as "FGS1," with anticipation that testing for other locations of the FG Syndrome phenotype will become available in the very near future. Such testing allows for confirmation of clinical diagnoses of FG Syndrome, and makes prenatal and carrier diagnosis possible. Other researchers are focused on developing a better understanding of the clinical, physical, and psychological manifestations of the FG Syndrome.
